MSK ( Minggu Suai Kenal) UPMKB

Today, Carlina held a small meeting at the office to discuss the preparation on the Alumni Night for the MSK UPMKB that will be held from 30th June until 7th July 2007. MSK is actually the Minggu Suai Kenal aka Orientation Week for the new freshies. Actuall my name was inside the list of Pengarah, but i told Din Ayub to omit my name out, because i might be continuing my studies by next semester in Serdang so i might not make it or even i cannot give my utmost commitment.
The meeting held smoothly but when it comes to input from the other staf , they would always be quiet without giving any imput or suggestion. Gosh... this is whats wrong with our people especially our subordinate. They always want to be fed with ideas until to a point they could't think by themself. Siapa nak jawap tu.
I have suggest to Carlina to change to concept like Raudah , one of the talk show in Astro. The whole inviroment is conditioned like a home and the speakers will be talking and relaxing as if they are talking at home without limitation. Last year we did the same formal event , but i felt that it has lack in interaction between the panel and the student. So this time round , i suggested to take only 2 panel plus 2 senior student and 1 freshies. Hopefully we could ebolish the barrier between the panel and the freshies.
The comes the tittle.... ahhhhh another headache. I have opted to choose one from the five item listed. ( Mr interframe kan)
1. Individual preperation towars World Leadership.
2. "Start" ~ furnishing and preparation.
3. No one's left behind.(this is my choice from the start) lilo and stich
4. What builds a nation.
5. The power of ignition.
So si Carlina pun setuju. Carlina ni selalu setuju apa yang aku suggest , tu yang aku suka tu. hehhee. We end up narrowing it down to no 3 and no 5. We took a ballot on the two and the result are ties, but ended up agreeing upon no 3.
So the next step would be finding the panel .... ehhhhhhhh siapa nak iyer. tambang dan makan free engkau. ....

QUESTION & ANSWER SESSION

Q: I've heard that cardiovascular exercise can prolong life; is this true?
A: Your heart is only good for so many beats, and that's it... Don't waste them on exercise. Everything wears out eventually. Speeding up your heart will not make you live longer; that's like saying you can extend the life of your car by driving it faster. Want to live longer? Take a nap.

Q: Should I cut down on meat and eat more fruits and vegetables?
A: You must grasp logistical efficiencies. What does a cow eat? Hay and corn. And what are these? Vegetables. So a steak is nothing more than an efficient mechanism of delivering vegetables to your system. Need grain? Eat chicken. Beef is also a good source of field grass (green leafy vegetable). And a pork chop can give you 100% of your recommended daily allowance of vegetable products.

Q: Should I reduce my alcohol intake?
A: No, not at all. Wine is made from fruit. Brandy is distilled wine, that means they take the water out of the fruity bit so you get even more of the goodness that way. Beer is also made out of grain. Bottoms up!

Q: How can I calculate my body/fat ratio?
A: Well, if you have a body and you have fat, your ratio is one to one. If you have two bodies, your ratio is two to one, etc.

Q: What are some of the advantages of participating in a regular exercise program?
A: Can't think of a single one, sorry. My philosophy is: No Pain...Good!

Q: Aren't fried foods bad for you?
A: YOU'RE NOT LISTENING!!! . Foods are fried these days in vegetable oil. In fact, they're permeated in it. How could getting more vegetables be bad for you?

Q: Is chocolate bad for me?
A: Are you crazy? HELLO . Cocoa beans! Another vegetable!!! It's the best feel-good food around!

Q: Is swimming good for your figure?
A: If swimming is good for your figure, explain whales to me.

Well, I hope this has cleared up any misconceptions you may have had about food and diets. And remember:"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming : "Woo Hoo, what a ride! "
Cheers Mates.
