Yesterday was my first day of work after being on a week holiday. I came on the Sunday and as my plane touch down to Bintulu, i got an sms from Carlina, saying that we had a meeting with the dean on Monday at around 11.30 am.
So yesterday as planned we had a meeting with the Dean and okay i wrap up things mumbled okay:
1. All field staff are not allow to use a decent shoes to work ,no branded shoes are allowed ( okaylah, after this i use boots or oh god my bata shoes here we go again)
2. All field staff are required to use a field outfit all the time while working ( i wonder kan what does he meant by field outfit).
3. All staff with a motorcycle have to use a helmet when riding thier bikes around the campus or else markah akan di tolak. ( entah markah apa he was grumbling about, coz when he was grumbling about the marks i just close my thought and go numb.)
4. All staff are encourage to work late everyday because according to him , the goverment had increase our salary thats y we have to work up late from here onwards.
( oh gosh, so if i work late what am i going to do in the office, mengaga lah
jawapnya)
5. He mentioned that, there was an old lady in Bekenu ( just 15 minutes from Miri), planted vegetables like in this very large land( and there was only her and her 2 daughters working in that big land)wow impressive kan and he said it shame him that we cannot do the same.. so my conclusion was, we should employ the old women along with her daughters.
So basically thats what he said... I felt like ripping my guts out when he gruble for 2 long hours. Guess i am not the only bitchy guy in the campus hehehehe.

Kuala Lumpur for a court case.
Im off to Kuala Lumpur this Sunday for attend a court case at the High Court Bandar Baru Bangi for the death case of Mr. Lim Chon Chong on the 15/10/2002. Gosh can i say that i already forgotten about the case. It was one of the moment in your life that u wish that you can pass tru.
I actually forgotten totally about the case ( well thats what i am trying to do) but its one of the thing you just cannot forget, but tried hard to.
I hope i did the right thing and hope that it wouldn't hurt anyone. Gosh this is the first time testifying .. now this felt like I'm in Alley Mc Beal.
Family photo potrait.
I forgotten this pic when i did my photo album last time, Libbing here is another family potrait.
This is my cousin Ceasar Blantocas family ( RIP). Last year was the first time I saw them and damn it the children have grown. The two big boys from the left is Oboy ( working in RTM as an editor and Ibe is a policeman now on the special for (CID) and libbing the pretty girl up front ( she is the only girl in the family) is now in UMS doing her degree. Aaron The right hand side is still in from 5. The middle is my Counsin's wife Manang Lisa and her youngest toddler.
The greatest thing that i remember about the kids is Ibe.. he is the quiet one in the family and once his mother said he smash a glass wall in a supermarket and surprisingly it didnt hurt him and Manang lisa pun pura-puralah marah at him but she was actually afraid being ask to pay hehehe.

This use to be my playground 2
Hi uolll.. he he Actually i just finish watching American Idol and suddenly i have the urge to go back to my office to do some work and end up updating my blog. Well this is the continuation of my Ist entry This used to be my playground.
This is at BAL White bridge ( we use to call it Jambatan putih) but priviously there was not grand entry like this. This was put up by Golden Hope a year ago because last year when i came it was not there. Next to it on the right side use to be a small village Estate ( the old Jambatan Putih) that was torn down by the G.Hope Management and planted the Oil Palm tree instead. Just imagine when i was a kid we use to follow the bus from to town using this road ( which at that time was gravel ) and it took nearly an hour just to reach our school everyday , with the dust and the rain ,,, well i think we did quiet well for now.
This is BOMBALAI. ( well its the Central workshop). My friends father Om Resi and my ex classmate Ariel use to work here. When i was working in BAL i used to come here to fill up petrol and see if whether my Lorry / tractor is repaired, it still look the same from the outside but who knows whats going on inside rite.
This is BOMBALAI primary school, my brother used to teach here in the late 80's and early 90's. The teachers quarters use to be next to school but like everything its disappear ( torn down)
This is the Former BAL ESTATE head office. Now, it used to be so beautiful before and u'll got the chill just to visit this place before but now it looks more like a hospital hehe. and the landscape was terrible as compared to before.

The front view of the former Head Office.
This is one of the staf quarters in Bombalai , this used to be Cikgu Jerai's house. One good thing about the BAL houses is , the electricity and the water bills are freee... All heaven, and if you are the executive you will have the privillage to get 6 cylinder gas free for a year( which i always bring home)
The workers quaters, My Friend Ariel used to stay at this Estate Village and when i was working in BAL i used to sneak and go to thier place.. yes i said sneak because the executives are not allow to go and mingle with the labourers back then. Just imagine not able to mingle with your childhood friends and your mom's friends. Its difficult, thats y i sneak in or go from the back of thier house.
This is the sundry shop in the Bombalai Estate. Life is simple back then and surprisingly until now. The shop still sells sundry things like shoes , onions etc etc and some locally planted vegetables.
See.. what i was telling you about.
This is formerly the Hang out shop we use to go when i was working in BAL. Wong, Chiang, Shukri and some other assistant manager use to come here to eat Noodles and Roti. They said that this shop was named Union shop becuase this is where the Labourers Union started in Bal Plantation.
This is my friends Shukri house in Bombalai, its just on the road side.
Still the Central Workshop in Bombalai.
The police station in Bombalai, i think this police station covers for all the BAL area, i came here twice per life time. Once when our house was burglared and most of our belongings was gone ( that was during the seventees) and second when i was already working in BAL and i caught a man stealing cocoa beans right handed in the middle of the day all by myself ( berani nye i kan) heheh. After that all my friends in BAL call me the CID ahaks.
An unexpected SMS
Hey you guys, isn't life good. This afternoon on my way Park City Mall.. Oh ye i bought a new water filter ( we got filthy water in the campus), i got this sms from my sister
" ENJOY READING YOUR BLOG. ITS LIKE READING & EXPRESSING MY OWN THOUGHT"
Now that put a smile on my face today, but then again is it really from her, so i msg her back " IS THAT YOU INDAY" ? She answerd me yes and she continue that " Semua ada meaning yang tersendiri ( All got meaning by itself) Glad that you're writting this may b one day you could write a memoir"
SWEEETTTTTTTTTTT.. isn't it.. well its least expected and little things in life brings smile to our faces, just like when you say how much you miss you Mom and your other siblings which we very seldom does.
On Oprah today this women mentioned that the best way to meditate is to sit quietly in a quiet place and have this very big smile to your guts and ur whole body and slowly it will change you in a possitive ways.

Mesti all of you say that i'm obsess with my trip to Europe and London, Well actually i am hehehe there you go. So here you are my memoirs in Spain.
I bought this drawing from this guy and it cost me 5 euro for that initially it was around 10 but i reduce it. According to him its an old writting meaning peace, or what so ever. entahlah.

This use to be my Playground (Part 1)
On my last day in Tawau, i manage to go back to my old place, It was formerly known as Burut Estate, as a kid i always wonder why was it called Burut ( you know what Burut means right) Burut in malay means the enlarge testicles of a man. hehehe. Now it is known as Kg Melati.. hey wait that was the name before too, but it was not widely used.
Things changed alot, my old house is no longer there, the road are smaller ( its either that or im getting bigger). The old mosque is no longer there and gosh the place looks hagard. I guess after the transition between BAL ( Borneo Abaca Limited) owned by CDC (Commonwealth Development Corporation) to the new management Golden Hope, the landscape change termendously.
Thats whats differs from the colonial time and the Malaysian. I once worked in BAL for 3 years and what differs when i was working in Taiko Plantation was the management puts the worker first. Every month we have these meetings with the Head of the village to discuss the current issues and the wellbeing of the villagers, and that the workers voice are heard, unlike when i was in Taiko, we just do not care what the workers dilemma what matters is by the end of the day how much profit the company makes.
The Perez residence, Uncle Perez was a formerly a Senior field Conductor in BAL and he use to be very mean not only to the workers but also to us ( including his children may his soul rest in peace Amin) Now this house is new before i am not sure what happen but it looks as if its been struck by lightning and now its just look old and haggard. I use to hang around this house alot with Raymond, Lylian and Lilibeth my best friend when i was a kid, and my mum would shout from my house to call me in the afternoon with a guava stick in her hands ready to give me a spank. hehehe.

This use to be the Oil Palm Mill manager residential, its up in a hil and previously it was surrounded with orchard. It was a beautiful house made of wood and the interior design is superb. One thing that i liked was you can play roller scate kat bawah, we use to call it bawah kolong.
This used to be my house, but was torn down and planted with oil palm. My mother use to plant alot of Banana trees and we use to sell it to the near shop.
This is the Mango tree (Wani type) its an old indian mango but the fruit was so scented and alot of insect infestation. Uncle Perez use to put his snake down the tree before slaughtering it.

This was our football field. It use to be so beautiful and green. We have another football field near our school but this is the largest , well so it used to be heheh. now it seems smaller. Our school use to have sports day there with all the small flags around the field.
This is the labourers quaters, we never manage to stay in one of these houses because it was only for the estates labourers and my mom was a teacher, so we stayed in the old staf quaters, and after a few year we found out that it was formerly the japanese house and there was a hole big hold in our kitchen, maybe it was a battle ground among the brit and japs before.
We called this the panggung before , but during the day its a classroom for primary 1 and 2. In the afternoon it wil be change to a panggung and the villagers can see tv there. Those days we couldn't afford to buy any TV, and during the weekend we can see movies but most of it is Indonesian and Chinese movies, as most of the workers are indonesian. Next to the pangung is the food stall selling all these local indonesian food such as gado-gado, soto, satay and many more.
This is my old school. Its from primary 1-6 and we usually have 2 sessions and the primary 3 and 5 will be in the afternoon.
These is one of the tuck shop. Its the Middle shop we used to call it Kedai Tukang. Its a tailor shop and my mother use to check the raffles ticket there after work. Tapi funny coz my mom never wins as far as i remember, but she keeps on buying.
This is another shop, my mums best friend we use to call it KEDAI BAWAH, my mother used to have lots of credits in this shops and we use to pick up the best onion at the back with my sister and brother but we cannot make noise eitherwise the tauke datok will get angry hehe. My mother use budget and list down the items we want to buy for the month and the shop will send it with a pick up and we would be so happy riding at the back of the pick up. ahhhhhhh
The Kedai atas, the most hated store in the village. We have very unforgetable experiences in this shop as they wouldn't accept credits for my mum and the goods are a little bit expensive as compared to the Kedai bawah. The youngest son use to be my classmate Ah Chong ( oh those typical Chinese name)
This is located at the back of my house, this use to be Mr Ongs house the Mill engineer. The back yard is covered with orchared , rambutan, mango , pineapple ,guava and me , my sister and brother use to sneak up and steal them. Once Mrs Ong came to our house complaining to my mum and soon after that they become good friends until now.
