This use to be my playground 2

Hi uolll.. he he Actually i just finish watching American Idol and suddenly i have the urge to go back to my office to do some work and end up updating my blog. Well this is the continuation of my Ist entry This used to be my playground.

This is at BAL White bridge ( we use to call it Jambatan putih) but priviously there was not grand entry like this. This was put up by Golden Hope a year ago because last year when i came it was not there. Next to it on the right side use to be a small village Estate ( the old Jambatan Putih) that was torn down by the G.Hope Management and planted the Oil Palm tree instead. Just imagine when i was a kid we use to follow the bus from to town using this road ( which at that time was gravel ) and it took nearly an hour just to reach our school everyday , with the dust and the rain ,,, well i think we did quiet well for now.

This is BOMBALAI. ( well its the Central workshop). My friends father Om Resi and my ex classmate Ariel use to work here. When i was working in BAL i used to come here to fill up petrol and see if whether my Lorry / tractor is repaired, it still look the same from the outside but who knows whats going on inside rite.

This is BOMBALAI primary school, my brother used to teach here in the late 80's and early 90's. The teachers quarters use to be next to school but like everything its disappear ( torn down)

This is the Former BAL ESTATE head office. Now, it used to be so beautiful before and u'll got the chill just to visit this place before but now it looks more like a hospital hehe. and the landscape was terrible as compared to before.

The front view of the former Head Office.

This is one of the staf quarters in Bombalai , this used to be Cikgu Jerai's house. One good thing about the BAL houses is , the electricity and the water bills are freee... All heaven, and if you are the executive you will have the privillage to get 6 cylinder gas free for a year( which i always bring home)

The workers quaters, My Friend Ariel used to stay at this Estate Village and when i was working in BAL i used to sneak and go to thier place.. yes i said sneak because the executives are not allow to go and mingle with the labourers back then. Just imagine not able to mingle with your childhood friends and your mom's friends. Its difficult, thats y i sneak in or go from the back of thier house.

This is the sundry shop in the Bombalai Estate. Life is simple back then and surprisingly until now. The shop still sells sundry things like shoes , onions etc etc and some locally planted vegetables.

See.. what i was telling you about.

This is formerly the Hang out shop we use to go when i was working in BAL. Wong, Chiang, Shukri and some other assistant manager use to come here to eat Noodles and Roti. They said that this shop was named Union shop becuase this is where the Labourers Union started in Bal Plantation.

This is my friends Shukri house in Bombalai, its just on the road side.

Still the Central Workshop in Bombalai.

The police station in Bombalai, i think this police station covers for all the BAL area, i came here twice per life time. Once when our house was burglared and most of our belongings was gone ( that was during the seventees) and second when i was already working in BAL and i caught a man stealing cocoa beans right handed in the middle of the day all by myself ( berani nye i kan) heheh. After that all my friends in BAL call me the CID ahaks.

This is the St John Chappel in Bombalai, We use to have our masses here but most of the time my mum would travel to town for Sunday masses. Once i conducted a carolling for all BAL and we collected the most money that year. It was fun going to share the good news every night.

Bombalai Church is St Thomas, we had some very moving masses there, we enjoyed the Xmas carolling and have some pictures. I will try to post it in Facebook and see if you recognise yourself.
